ViewPoint is GE HealthCare's ultrasound reporting software, used at the scanner to review and structure reports. wawa does not connect to ViewPoint directly. ViewPoint studies reach wawa through the DICOM integration: the scanner sends the study (images and Structured Report) to your DICOM server, such as Orthanc, and wawa imports it from there.
What we need from you
Everything the DICOM integration needs, plus:
- Your ViewPoint and scanner configuration set to send studies, including the Structured Report, to your DICOM server. Measurements such as follicle sizes, endometrial thickness, CRL, BPD and fetal heart rate are read from the SR; image-only studies are imported without measurements.
- The wawa patient ID on the study, as for any scanner.
How it works
- The flow is one way: scanner and ViewPoint → your DICOM server → wawa. Nothing is written back to ViewPoint.
- Follicle-scan and pregnancy-scan measurements are parsed from the SR into the patient record.
- If scans appear in ViewPoint but not in wawa, check the DICOM side first: that the study reached your DICOM server, contains an SR, and carries the right patient ID. See DICOM.
- To use a scan image in a patient letter, save it as PNG; DICOM files can't be attached to letters directly.
